COFFIN JOE

Le Orme / Footprints on the Moon
Directed by Luigi Bazzoni
1975
Stylish Italian psychological thriller/giallo featuring cinematography by the legendary Vittorio Storaro with a bonus cameo by Klaus Kinski. Not gonna lie though, I wish it had just been a space thriller set on the moon starring Klaus Kinski instead. But don’t we all?
BONUS: footage of this film was recently used to make a fan video for the song “Cop Killer” by John Maus.
Moon Zero Two intro sequence
1969
This animated title sequence is some of the best I’ve seen. By far the best thing about this movie.

Moon Zero Two
Directed by Roy Ward Baker
1969
Probably the campiest Hammer horror movie I’ve ever seen. But in a great way though.

A Bucket of Blood
Directed by Roger Corman
1959
This movie is in the public domain so you can watch it for free online. If you ever wanted a cheesy horror flick with artsy hipster beatnik types, this is it.
Disc-O-Teen (TV)
1967
Airing from 1965 to 1967, Disc-O-Teen was a live teen dance show hosted by “Cool Ghoul” Zacherley on New York City’s first commercial UHF station, WNJU-TV Channel 47. Like a low budget American Bandstand, the show would have bands come on every day but instead of a live performance, they just played their songs in the background so they wouldn’t have to pay the band’s performance fees. Brilliant!
Check out homies The Box Tops on the show while their hit “The Letter” plays and costumed mod chicks dance to it. I wish they still did TV shows like this. This is on some Ed Wood borderline genius level type shit. So surreal.

Best horror trailer ever? Or best movie trailer ever? Or both?
