The films of Tony Scott (1983-1996)
This is still my favorite thing Tony Scott has done. Mainly because it is quintessential Tony in its style, rampant editing, color grading, giant explosions, plus featuring an all-star cast of Clive Owen, Gary Oldman, James Brown, Danny Trejo, and even a Marilyn Manson cameo. He was one of the good ones and definitely shaped Hollywood cinema in the 80s and 90s. I feel for the Scott family and their loss.

Saw this one today. More modern whimsical sci-fi comedies, please. And Aubrey Plaza.
Bernie
Directed by Richard Linklater

Saw this on a whim after director Robert Downey, Sr. recommended it in a Q&A session I went to. Didn’t see the trailer, didn’t know anything about it, didn’t even know it was a Linklater film. It was great, though. Recommended if you’re a fan of Christopher Guest type movies.
Hate to hype up something I haven’t seen yet, but this photo is single-handedly making me want to see the new Harmony Korine movie. Propers to them for shooting it in the Tampa/St. Pete area, too.
